pre-school program

Children of all ages are always ready for new experiences and our preschoolers are no different! Their day includes opportunities for both structured and unstructured play. The day begins with the children choosing their early morning activity (puzzles, reading, writing station, sorting, dramatic play, building…). This is followed by a lively circle time that includes seeing who is here to play with us today (counting, name recognition), singing, movement (get the wiggles out!) and sharing what we are all doing (at school today, at home with mom & dad, on vacation…). Next is our activity time that is so much more than an art project! It's about experiencing. It may incorporate science, math, color recognition, sensory exploration, small motor skills, writing - or any combination of the above! Afterwards we head outside for some much needed outdoor play, where we build up an enormous appetite for lunch! While lunch is being prepared, we all relax with story time (although, admittedly, sometimes we do have a rather boisterous story time!). At any rate, it will be followed with lunch and nap/rest time. After the children wake up, it's time for snack, some outdoor play followed by a more loosely structured activity time.

Our daily schedule is sometimes subject to the "mood" of the group! For example: if they are too goofy for a structured circle time on any given day, we are quick to adapt and bring out some large motor activities. Children are no different than adults in this way - they get tired, they get silly. They are just more free to express it!
